Burgers, music and heart in St. Pauli since 2016.
What began as a wild idea has become a place for great burgers, music and time together. Grilly Idol grew out of recipes from a legendary shared flat kitchen and the friendship of three owners brought together by good food and music.
From shared-flat recipe to burger joint
Grilly Idol first opened its doors on 16 March 2016. It began with burger recipes from a legendary shared flat kitchen and a pop-up grill in the courtyard of Molotow on the Reeperbahn. That was the start of the restaurant you know today.
Friendship, good food and music
The three owners share a long friendship and a love of good food and music. You can see that reflected in our name and interior.
During the winter of 2015/16, many friends helped renovate and build out the restaurant. Together with artist Reinhard Kalz and woodworkers Christopher Czech and Ulli Wood, they created a place to drop in, stay awhile, eat, drink and listen to music.
Good ingredients, freshly served
For our classic burgers, we use regional beef and Kikok corn-fed chicken from Schlachterei Fricke in Stellingen. We make our sauces and mayo fresh every day. Freshness, quality and sustainability matter to us – and you can taste it.
We also serve vegetarian and vegan burgers. Our menu includes different kinds of fries, coleslaw and a selection of drinks.
